Senior Director, Business Development
I am a recruiter assisting a great company located to identify and hire a
Senior Director of Business Development. This position may be based outside
of Dallas, TX and will require extensive travel. Here are the details for
your review:
Reports to EVP and Chief Strategy Officer
General Summary:
The Senior Director role will focus on development and growth of medical
education opportunities. Specific responsibilities will include revenue
generation, proposal development, and new and existing supporter
relationship development. The Senior Director will maintain a working
knowledge of pertinent medical education and oncology-related marketplace
issues and develop and maintain relationships with select key opinion
leaders.
Position may be based outside of Dallas, Texas and will require extensive
travel (25- 50% of the time including weekends).
Essential Functions:
-Analyze pharmaceutical marketing and product development trends and
healthcare delivery gaps to communicate strategic recommendations to the
education team for business growth opportunities
-Pursue strategic growth opportunities as assigned by leadership team
-Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors in designing,
raising support, planning, and implementing multi-format educational
initiatives (print, web-based, live) in oncology
-Develop and maintain relationships with supporters as appropriate and in
compliance with existing rules and regulations
-Work with other members of the Education Team to develop winning proposals
-Assist in the development of new product budgets
-Maintain and develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders in
oncology
-Train, supervise, and mentor internal and contract staff as appropriate
-Oversee and provide regular internal and external status updates
-Report and/or work with appropriate education team members to resolve
supporter related issues.
-Meet revenue goals as assigned by leadership team
Qualifications:
-Must be authorized to work in the USA.
-Must have valid passport
-Must be at least 18 years of age.
-Must be able to clear a criminal background check.
-Ability to multi-task and prioritize job requirements.
-Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-Ability to work well in a team environment
Education:
-College degree in marketing or business, or equivalent work experience
(advanced degree preferred) or medical or pharmaceutical training (MD, RN,
PharmD or equivalent)
-Minimum five (5) years experience in oncology related sales/marketing.
(Pharmaceutical experience is strongly preferred)
-Working knowledge of the Oncology marketplace and familiarity with
guidelines related to ACCME, Pharma Code and OIG report.
-Good relationships with Oncology grant office staff and other key decision
makers
-Track record of success
Other Requirements:
-Proficiency with suite of Microsoft Office especially Word, Excel, and
Power Point.
-Ability to learn or previous experience with salesforce.com
-Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills required.
-Must be able to work independently and handle multiple high priority
projects, as well as supporting functions simultaneously and make sound
decisions.
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills including the ability to
interpret and communicate scientific information.
