General Summary:
The role of the Programmer provides development, enhancement, troubleshooting and maintenance for all new and existing software applications.
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science required
Experience/Credentials/Certifications:
- 1 -3 years’ of experience in a programming role.
- Experience in .NET, C#, ASP.NET, PHP, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint.
- Must have understanding of SQL server data base design and development.
- Must understand and use Agile Project Management concepts.
Duties:
• Develops programming code for existing software enhancements.
• Is available to respond to urgent system issues outside of regular working hours.
• Troubleshoots and debugs existing code.
• Tests code and fixes to ensure quality.
• Develops conversion and system implementation plans; implements newly created code and fixes into existing software.
• Maintains knowledge of emerging technology and provides recommendations to management.
• Works closely with third party vendors for system design and architecture
• Keeps customers informed of all enhancements, troubleshooting, and fixes.
• Creates and maintains all programming documentation. .
• Establishes and designs software necessary in order to integrate new hardware.
• Maintains existing system software by detecting and correcting systems failures and by implementing system enhancements.
• Develops and supports transactional and operational data reporting.
• Develops quality standards and system efficiencies in regards to the IT functions.
• Tracks data as needed for process improvement, special audits, and projects.
• Participates in the implementation of new accounts.
• Possess leadership, management, analytical, interpretive, and organization skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, this position requires clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment and problem solving analysis, and the ability handle multiple priorities simultaneously. This position also requires the ability to be independently mobile, sit, stand, use extremities and fingers, talk, hear, and smell. May occasionally lift up to10 pounds.
Must have vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Must have a valid, non-restricted, Michigan Driver’s license. The work environment may include an office setting. Noise levels may vary, but are usually moderate.
Will be exposed to a variety of attitudes, personalities, and reactions from employees, client company representatives, and staff.
