company located in Torrance, CA to identify and hire a Director of

JOB FUNCTION
As the Director of Logistics you will be responsible for managing all
personnel in the purchasing, shipping and receiving and the inventory
control
groups. You will also be the liaison between your direct reports and
Production and Operations. You will be in charge of the entire supply chain
for materials and equipment to support all departments, and supplying
finished goods to the customer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-Maintain adequate inventory levels of parts, materials and chemicals to
support Productions and Operations at all times.
-Improve and maintain systems to control inventory levels and optimize
efficiency.
-Direct all purchasing activities to negotiate competitive pricing.
-Keep full accountability and maintain compliance with federal, state and
city regulations for storage and handling of materials.
-Control material flow into production and out of production under GMP
requirements.
-Ensure timely packaging and compliant shipping of finished goods to the
customer.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
-Train and evaluate staff
-Enforce safety and compliance in all areas of responsibility.
-Continuously improve efficiency by optimizing storage, transfer and
handling operations.
-Allocate resources to meet the demands of Production and Operations outside
regular working hours (shifts and weekends).
-Manage waste collection and removal by third parties under federal, state
and city regulations.
-Develop and implement new procedures and write relevant SOP's.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
-BS degree in the science or engineering discipline or BS in Accounting or
Business Administration
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
-3-5 years experience in Logistics, Warehousing, Purchasing or Inventory
Management
-Excellent computer skills - Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Inventory
Systems
-Supervisory experience
-Experience with the handling of chemicals or pharmaceutical products.
-Familiar with GMP regulations.
SKILLS
-Excellent management, communication, negotiation and organizational skills.
-Reliability and safety conscious.
-Detail oriented as it pertains to accuracy.
-Multi task oriented
-Energetic, intuitive and proactive.
